Introduction
Birds are an interesting kind of vertebrate. They are warm blooded animals
with feathers, wings, and two feet. Vertebrates are animals that have a back bone, birds have a back bone which makes them vertebrate.
Our groups animal is a vertebrate.

What Defines a Bird?
Dictionary.com defines a bird as "any warm-blooded vertebrate of the class Aves, having a body covered with feathers, forelimbs modified into wings, scaly legs, a beak, and no teeth, and bearing young in a hard-shelled egg." Birds are unique animals in many ways. A few things unique about them is that they can fly, have feathers, and can lay eggs. Some can even copy what you say! One bird called they lyre bird can repeat what you say (Video Below).

This is an Emperor Penguin, just like all penguins, they cannot fly. Instead the swim, and hunt fish to provide food.
Types of Birds
There are 4 main types of birds they are water fowl, birds of prey, perching, and flightless birds.
The water fowls are like mallards. Birds of prey are like hawks and vultures. Perching birds are like sparrows.
Flightless birds are like ostriches.
